How Long Do the Benefits of Vitamin Therapy IV Treatment Last?

Ryan Brennan • Feb 03, 2022

IV vitamin therapy, also known as intravenous therapy or IV infusion therapy, is a unique way for healthcare professionals to deliver a variety of vitamins, minerals, and other nutrients directly into the bloodstream. This comes with a variety of benefits and uses in the world today.

Normally, these nutrients would have to pass through the digestive system, whether it’s through your whole-food diet or through a supplement. Not only does the digestive system take a while to process the nutrients, but a percentage of the nutrients may never make it to fruition.

With vitamin IV therapy Las Vegas, you can bypass the digestive system entirely and inject the nutrients into the bloodstream, where it’s immediately available for absorption by the body’s cells. This is especially vital for those with nutrient deficiencies that struggle to maintain the daily amount.

So, how long does vitamin therapy IV treatment last?

Although the actual procedure only takes about 30 to 60 minutes, patients will normally feel the benefits for around three to four days after the treatment. As your vitamin levels normalize, the benefits will generally last longer and you could get away with one visit every two weeks.

The truth is there are a number of factors that play a role in just how long the benefits of IV infusion therapy last and it’s not going to be the same for everyone. Some of these factors include age, metabolism, biology, how you eat, your day-to-day lifestyle, and your overall health.

With that said, your doctor will work one-on-one with you to monitor your progress, that way they can administer the right nutrients, at the right doses, and at the right times. Since you don’t want to take too many vitamins and minerals, your doctor will ensure you get just enough.

What to Expect From Vitamin IV Therapy

The IV infusion procedure is fairly straightforward and won’t take a lot out of the patient. The nutrients are added to an IV bag that’s connected to a small tube. At the end of the tube is a small needle, which is injected directly into the patient’s vein – don’t worry, this doesn’t hurt.

The nutrients in the IV bag slowly drip down the tube and into the patient’s bloodstream. While this is happening, the patient is comfortably relaxing on a recliner chair and they’re free to read a book, listen to music, watch television, or do anything else that doesn’t require them to get up.

After half an hour to an hour, the needle is removed and the patient is free to go. Your doctor will let you know how often you should visit and the nurses will be available throughout the duration of the procedure to answer any questions or concerns that you might have.

What Are the Benefits of Vitamin IV Treatment?

We’ve talked a lot about how long patients will feel the benefits of IV therapy treatments, but that might lead many to wonder what those benefits are. It can help a lot of people that struggle with certain nutrient deficiencies and need a quick boost to elevate those levels as needed.

As we all know, the human body uses vitamins, minerals, and other nutrients to function in a wide range of ways. Each nutrient generally has a number of responsibilities inside the body and when joined together, they can improve how the body and mind function on a day-to-day basis.

With that said, certain IV ‘cocktails’ contain unique combinations of nutrients that stand to benefit the body in specific ways. Some of those benefits include improved athletic performance, hydration, hangover relief, enhanced beauty, anti-aging properties, immunity, and much more.

Some of the most prominent and commonly used ingredients in IV vitamin infusions include Vitamins A, C, D, E, K, B1, B2, B3, B5, B6, B7, B9, B12, Magnesium, Zinc, Biotin, amino acids, and other nutrients. Some health clinics even offer customized cocktails for the patient.
